Masaka District
Masaka District, Masaka, Uganda.
Masaka District is one of the oldest districts of Uganda. Originally, it consisted of Rakai, Kalangala and Sembabule, making it once the largest district in Uganda. Today Masaka has been reduced in size after Kooki, Sese islands and Sembabule sub-district were elevated to the district status.
Opportunities for Investment:
Masaka District is endowed with good climate and an industrious population. With this, coupled with the rich natural resource base, a lot of economic activities are taking place in the District. The major ones are Agriculture, livestock keeping, fishing, trade and pit sawing, with farming being the most important activity in terms of revenue contribution to the District.
